NEW NOOSA MUSEUM BOOKLET

“SEARCHING ...........”

There is a new Museum publication available that tells the story of Jill McKellar’s search for her family history with the assistance of the Noosa Museum. Robyn Jones, Museum member and volunteer has written of Jill’s interesting journey for information on the Jeffery family of Cootharaba.
An excellent read at only $2.50.

Wiki is a website that utilizes wiki technology (similar to the popular Wikipedia®) that allows anyone, anywhere to post their stories, recollections, photos and knowledge of the Noosa district directly to the site from their own computer. As people add their individual stories to Noosawiki, a collaborative and ongoing story of Noosa’s history and heritage will be built. Stories on any aspect of Noosa are welcomed—personal or family histories, individual localities, places, industries, events, or organisations—and can be of any length from a sentence to several pages.

The site also features Noosa’s Photo Album—a great place to post (and find) photos of the Noosa district, past and present, and share the stories behind the images. Or, add your “mystery” photos and see if anyone else can provide any information.

The site is worth taking a look at and you never know you may have something to add!
